Speaking during a programme held at the Mumbai Police Commissioner's Office on Friday, Chief Minister Udhaav Thackeray praised the Mumbai Police for their work and slammed people who had used Ill words against them.
"There is no end to the accomplishments of the Mumbai Police and the tradition of policing date back to 150 years. With this long tradition and their efficiency, no matter how much one tries, he will not be able to malign their image and I promise that if anyone attempts to do so, I will not allow that to happen."
He would even go on to praise them for their work during the pandemic. "During the pandemic, the police work hard due to which thousands of this personnel contracted the infection, with some of them getting matyred in the line of duty."
During the programme he even felicitated some COVID-19 warrior police personnel. At the event Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh and other senior officals were also present.
