CM Uddhav Thackeray warns people of a strict Lockdown if COVID norms are not followed

 

With the surge in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra going on at a steady rate,Chief Minister Udhaav Thackeray on Sunday said that the state would impose a strict lockdown if people do not follow proper COVID-19 norms for the next eight days.

In his address he announced that there will be a complete ban for a few days on all political, social and religious gatherings, morchas and public protest to curb the widespread.

As warned by Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar, he repeated her same message and said it was in their(people) hands to prevent another lockdown.

He said "Should we impose a lockdown? Those who do not want a lockdown will observe protocols like using masks, washing hands and keeping physical distance. People who want a lockdown again will flout these rules. Let us see who wants a lockdown and who doesn't."

Referring about a potential second wave of COVID-19 he said "The Second Wave has not yet come,but it has been knocking at our door. It will be clear in the next one or two weeks."

He along with other top officals will meet again in the next 8 days and survey the situation and then lay out the discussion about the prospects of another lockdown.
