In a bizzare news, a Mumbai Man has been sentenced to prison for 8 years after he allegedly stabbed his wife in 2019 for eating curd which she had brought from her mother.
The victim was eating the curd given by her mother when her husband entered. Soon he started questioning her and also told that it looked like the curd was eaten by a cat. Soon an argument broke out between the two and the accused got angry and started beating her.
While he continued beating her, he saw a knife lying by and stabbed her with it. The victim was able to raise an alarm depsite injury and the landlord's son in law heard her and rescued her. Her husband fled the scene before his arrival. The victim is a mother of two and had to spend 2 months in hospital to recover from her injuries.
The Police later traced down the accused and Arrested him on the charges of attempt to murder. He had been in Jail since then. After testifying against him, the victim said that he was unemployed and would often come home drunk.
After hearing the appeals from both side, the Court sentenced him to 8 years of Rigorous Imprisonment.
