On Saturday, a blast in a chemical factory in Maharashtra resulted in the death of atleast five people and left several injured. This incident has been reported to have taken place at the Gharda Chemicals which is located in Ratnagiri district.
At the time of the incident, around 40-50 were said to have been strucked inside the factory who were later rescued by fire brigade. The wounded were then rushed to nearby civil hospital while those who were severely injured were transferred to Mumbai.
The reason behind this blast is yet to be known. Explosion of a boiler has been suspected as the cause of this blast.
The officials have informed that the fire has been brought under control and the cooling operations is underway.
