Govt denies claim of any Cyberattack for Mumbai Power Outage last year

Yesterday after several reports suggested that Cyberattacks from either Pakistan or China had caused the major power outage in Mumbai last year, Union Minister RK Singh has denied any such Cyberattack and has said that "it was a human error" that lead to the outage. He also added that there are no evidence to connect that grid failure to hacking attempt.

"We don't have any evidence to say that the cyberattacks were carried out by China or Pakistan. Some people say that the group behind the attacks is Chinese but we don't have evidence. China will definitely deny it" said Singh.

"The outage was caused by human error and not due to the cyberattack. One of the teams submitted that cyber attack did happen they were not linked to the Mumbai grid failure."

Maharashtra Power Minister Nitin Raut today has said that reports on the power outage will be submitted in the state assembly on Wednesday.
