Mumbai Woman punches BMC Offical after being fined for not wearing mask

In an astonishing set of circumstances, A Mumbai Woman alleged punched an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) after she was fined for not wearing a face mask. The incident has been reported to have taken place in Kandivali. A video of that incident has gone viral on social media.

The woman was travelling in a rickshaw without a mask. As she reached a traffic signal at Kandivali, she was stopped by another woman who was an official or marshal of the BMC deployed to check COVID safety norms in the city.

As soon as the BMC Marshal asked her to pay a fine of Rs 200 for not wearing a mask in public places, an argument broke between the two which quickly escalated into a fist fight after the women landed a right hand on the official.

BMC Supervisor Prashant Kamble reacted to this incident and said "The Video of a woman marshal being assualted is said to be of Kandivali. Charkop Police are investigating it."

This incident comes just a day after Mumbai reported over 3,000 cases in a single day. With the number of cases this high and people breaking norms like this, it wont be long until the city is placed under a lockdown.
