UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to visit India at the end of April

On Tuesday the reports from United Kingdom have confirmed that Prime Minister Boris Johnson will travel to India at the end of April 2021 as apart of efforts to boost the Indo-Pacific connection.

This news come almost 2 months after, he had cancel his trip to India in January because of the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the UK. He was supposed to be the Chief Guest of the Republic Day Parade on 26th January.

Johnson's offical office on the upcoming trip to India, said "... it would 'tilt' its focus towards the Indo-Pacific region as a part of its Integrated Review of government policy for the upcoming years, saying the area increasingly represented the geopolitical centre of the world."

The UK is also said to have been applying for partnership in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) as a part of its foreign policy.
