Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat resigns from the post

After generating a buzz today, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat announced his resignation from the post in a press conference. The BJP leader handed in his resignation to Governor Baby Rani Maurya.

According to reports the most likely successor to this throne is one of his Minister Dhan Singh Rawat. It was said that he was in Garhwal today and took a chopper ride to reach Dehradun this afternoon after he recieved the word.

The reason of his resignation is said to be the feedback from MLA's of low performance from Rawat as the CM could harm the Elections next year and ultimately cost the party, another chance to form the government in the state. During many opinion polls he was deemed as "below average" as CM.

Some reports from Uttarakhand suggest that BJP MLA'S will have a meeting on Wednesday i.e 10th March,2021 and select the new Chief Minister.

In the press conference Rawat said "The party gave me a golden opportunity to serve this state for four years. I had never thought that I would get such an opportunity. The party has now decided that the opportunity to serve as CM should be given to someone else."
