Wembley set to host 8,000 fans for the Carabao Cup Final

According to reports from England, the EFL has planned to welcome around 8,000 fans (4,000 for each team) and National Health Service (NHS) workers for the Carabao Cup Final that will take place on April 25 between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs at Wembley.

The 90,000 capacity Stadium, is a landmark in English Football. Every year it hosts the Carabao Cup final, the semi and final of the FA Cup. Last year the FA Cup final was played with no fans due to COVID-19 Restrictions.

The Carabao Cup which usually concludes in the last week of February was pushed back to April for this particular reason to have some fans back. This showpiece clash in London, will a pilot test event ahead of the large scale return of spectators to venues.

The UK Government in February during their four part plan to lift the Coronavirus Lockdown announced that 10,000 people could be allowed in stadium to attend sporting event if the pilots are successful but not before May 17.

The EFL are now confident that the final will take place with a minimum of fans as England also gears up to host the Euros in June.
