22 Covid patient lose their lives in Nashik due to Oxygen Tank leakage

In a heartbreaking incident in Nashik, around 22 Covid-19 patients died after an oxygen tanker got leaked outside of the hospital, disrupting supply to patients for around 30 minutes.

This tragic incident is reported to have taken place at the Zakir Hussain Municipal Hospital. All 22 victims were on ventilators and needed constant oxygen supply.

Visuals which resurfaced showed gas leaking from the tanker outside the hospital and soon the area was covered in dense white fumes.

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has promised that the government will look into the matter and a thorough probe will be conducted.

"As per the information available with us, patients who were on ventilators at the hospital in Nashik have died. The leakage was spotted at the oxygen tank which was supplying oxygen to these patients. The interrupted supply could be linked to the deaths of the patients in the hospital" said Tope while adding "We will issue a statement later after the investigation is over."
