On Friday, 9 April 2021, chief terrorist of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) – Imtiyaz Shah was killed in the encounter between terrorists and security forces at Nowbugh in the Tral area of Awantipora district in Jammu and Kashmir.
In total, seven terrorists were shot dead by security forces today in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian and Tral regions in two separate encounters that ended today morning.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of Kashmir, Vijay Kumar congratulated police and security forces for the successful operation.

- Indian Army informed that two AK rifles, one pistol and one UGBL were recovered from the operation site.

At least two unidentified terrorists were killed in the encounter between terrorists and security forces at Nowbugh in the Tral area of Awantipora district in Jammu and Kashmir.
In another Shopian Encounter, atleast 5 unidentified terrorists have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir. Also one officer and 3 soldiers have been injured.
