BMC marks four wards as COVID-19 Hotspot in Mumbai

The surge in COVID-19 cases is still on the rise in the city of Mumbai. After reporting around 11,000 cases on Sunday, the city recorded a slight dip with over 9,000 cases. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has now marked out four wards as major hotspots in Mumbai.

In the data released by BMC, Bandra West, Goregaon, Andheri East-West and Chembur are the ones that have been experiencing high patient count and are now on the radar as COVID-19 Hotspots.

The number of active cases is highest from Andheri to Borivali. Earlier the patient growth was higher in Chembur, Bandra and Govandi, but now the same has spread across the city.

Due to this exponential rise in the city, the Civic body has sealed over 167 buildings in Andheri West and have termed it as a red zone area. 83 buildings have been sealed in Parel, 79 in Grant Road-Malabar Hill, followed by 59 in Chembur-Govandi and 57 in Byculla.
