CISCE postpones Class X and XII Board Exams;Class X can option out

After two days of eagerly waiting for an announcement regarding the Board Exams, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 exams that were scheduled to begin on May 4, to a later date and a final decision will be likely taken by the first week of June.

In a press statement CISCE Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon said "In the light of the nationwide surge in COVID-19 cases, the CISCE has decided to defer the ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) board examinations scheduled to be held from May 4,2021."

The CISCE added that Class X students have been given an option to attempt the exams later with Class XII students or not attempt the offline exams.

Arathoon added "In the view of the ICSE (Class X) candidates opting for the second option, the CISCE will develop a fair and unbiased criterion while preparing the results of such candidates."
