Mumbai Mayor slams Kumbh Mela Pilgrims; saying they will distribute Corona as 'prasad'

With Coronavirus creating havoc in the country and especially in the state of Maharashtra, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar has slammed the Kumbh Mela Pilgrims and have pointed them out as future superspreaders.

The Iconic Kumbh Mela where Crores of Devotees come together and take a bath in River of Ganga are now on the verge of becoming hotspots according to the Mayor. Speaking ahead to the ANI, she said that Pilgrims returning from the Kumbh Mela in Uttarakhand's Haridwar will distribute Coronavirus as 'prasad'(sweet) in their respective states.

"Those returning from Kumbh Mela to their respective states will distribute Corona as 'prasad'. All these people should be quarantined in their respective states at their own costs. In Mumbai also we are thinking about putting them under quarantine on their return" said Pednekar to ANI.

Yesterday the Country reported over 2 lakh cases for a third straight day as 2,34,692 fresh new cases were reported, the highest single day spike so far. Pednekar has also suggested of imposing a complete lockdown in Maharashtra.
