New Restrictions and Weekend Lockdown announced in Maharashtra

 

The rapid widespread of COVID-19 in the state of Maharashtra has forced the government to take some strict action. In an attempt to Break the Covid Chain, the government has announced a Weekend Lockdown, for this month and released some new restrictions.

[Note-The Night Curfew will remain intact from 8pm-7am]

In the weekend lockdown, a complete lockdown will be imposed across the state. The weekend lockdown will start on Friday at 8pm and end on Monday at 7am.

On Sunday the government also announced that all shops except essential services will remain closed till the end of the month. Hotels and Restaurants will be allowed to operate only home deliveries and takeways during the day time.

No social, political, cultural functions will take place. Schools, Colleges,Cinemas, Theaters, Indoor Sports Complexes, Gyms, Salons and Beauty Parlours will also remain shut. 

On Monday the Mumbai Police imposed Section 144 in the city which will remain in place till 30th April. Due to this, gathering of five or more people in public places is banned and those who flout this rule will be fined.

Government offices except public health department, disaster department and medical educational department will operate at 50% capacity while private offices will have work from home.
