Congress MP Rajeev Satav passes away after recovering from COVID-19

On Sunday, Congress MP Rajeev Satav passed away at a private hospital in Pune, few days after recovering from COVID-19. He was on ventilator support after his health deteriorated quickly.

The 46 year old had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 22. He was then diagnosed with a new viral infection and was in critical condition said the Hospital Management.

Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi condoled his demise and said it was a big personal loss for him.


PM Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences on Twitter.

Satav hailed from Maharashtra and was in-charge of the party's affairs in Gujarat.

"We are deeply saddened by the demise of Rajya Sabha MP and compatriot, Shri Rajeev Satav. His unwavering dedication towards the nation and the party carried out with pure simplicity will be greatly missed. Our condolences to his family, friends and followers. May he rest in peace" the Congress tweeted from their official account.
