Has walk-in vaccination now been allowed for 18-44 age group?

The Central Government on Tuesday (25 May) said the decision to allow onsite registration and appointments at government vaccination centres for 18 to 44-year-olds was on the basis of representations made by states.

For age group 18-44, registration and slot booking through Co-WIN was mandatory so far and walk-in vaccination were only allowed for those above 45 years of age.

After global vaccine manufacturers told states they will deal only with the Union government, states are again demanding in chorus that the Centre should import and distribute vaccines to all states without losing time.

India is witnessing a gradual downfall in Covid-19 cases. Meanwhile vaccine & oxygen scarcity continue to knock doors of hospitals in each state.
