In Matchweek 34 of Serie A,Second place Atalanta's 1-1 draw with Sassulo ended the 9 year reign of Juventus as Champions, as Inter Milan mathematically secured top spot and ended their 11 year wait for a Scudetto following a 2-0 win against bottom club Crotone.
Having missed the title by just a single point last season, Antonio Conte's men suffered another heartbreak as they lost 3-2 in the UEFA Europa League Final.
This season's they didn't start of strong mostly playing second fiddle to city rivals AC Milan who were on top of the table till December. Conte knew a run of good results would put his team back on track.
After their 2-1 deafeat to Sampdoria in January, the I Nerazzurri embarked on an 18 game unbeaten run(still intact) including comfortable victories over both Juventus and AC Milan.
Perhaps the lack of no European Football could be reason for Inter's success this season? They finished bottom of their Champions League group winning only one and drawing three as they were knocked out from the group stages.
With this league success, Inter are now the second most successful club in Serie A with 19 titles now to their name, pulling one ahead of AC Milan at 18.
