Despite the state showing recent dips in COVID-19 cases, the Maharashtra Government has extended the lockdown-like restrictions by another two weeks till June 15. However a fresh set of guidelines is said to be released on June 1 by CM Uddhav Thackeray.
"As far as lockdown is concerned,15 day's extension has been given, but the guidelines related to it will be issued on June 1" said Health Minister Rajesh Tope.
Speaking on relaxation provided by government, Rajesh Tope said no relaxation will be given in the areas where the number of patients and positivity rate are still high and the availability of beds in hospital is still an issue. Areas where the situation has improved are likely to get guidelines which will ease the curbs.
"In 10-15 districts, the positivity rate is still very high. Besides, there is a threat of black fungus infection" CM Uddhav Thackeray has noted.
Recently Tope announced that Home Isolation has been banned in 18 districts of Maharashtra due to high positivity rate.https://sunitinews.blogspot.com/2021/05/maharashtra-bans-home-isolation-in.html
