Manchester City reach their first Champions League Final after knocking PSG out

On Tuesday night Premier League Champions elect Manchester City defeated French Champions Paris Saint Germain 2-0 at the City of Manchester Stadium to win 4-1 on aggregate and progress through their first ever UCL Final.

After an enthralling contest in Paris, City came out to battle in Manchester with led in the first leg. Just before the game, a heavy hailstorm occured due to which the first half of the game was played on a pitch covered with snow!

PSG started without Kylian Mbappe due to an injury which forced him out of action on Weekend's clash with Lens.

PSG made a bright start and thought they earned a penalty in the 7th minute, when the ball struck Oleksandr Zinchenko. The referee awarded the penalty but immediately changed his decision after checking the VAR as the ball actually struck Zinchenko's shoulder.

Minutes later City took the lead after a ridiculous 60 yard from City keeper Ederson found Zinchenko on the left flank. He drived forward and cutted it back to De Bruyne whose blocked shoot fall kindly in place for Riyad Mahrez to snatch it home from close range.

The French side kept on attacking but were unable to shake off the City Defence. The tie was put to bed in the 63rd minute after a quick counter attack from City saw De Bruyne lay out the pass to Foden who cutted it straight at the face of Goal for Mahrez to tap it home to grab his second of the game and make it 4-1 for City.

PSG then finished with 10 men as former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria was sent off for pushing and kicking City Captain Fernandinho away in the 69th minute.

This will be City's second ever European final and their first since 1970 when they won the European Cup Winners Cup. This will also be Pep Guardiola's third final, his first since 2010-11 season where his FC Barcelona defeated Sir Alex's Manchester United 3-1.
