On Monday, the Pfizer Inc told the Indian Government that there is no need to worry about the safety of it's COVID-19 vaccine.
In mid April the Government allowed foreign countries and companies to sell their vaccines to India in an attempt to speed up the vaccination drive.
Out of research studies, Pfizer has proved to the most successful vaccine with an successful rate of 95%. The government however insists on small local trials despite facing shortages of vaccine in many states.
Along with Pfizer, India has also invited Johnson & Johnson and Moderna Inc to sell their vaccines. However none of them have applied to do so yet.
Speaking to Reuters, a company spokesperson said "Pfizer's application for emergency use authorization was supported with data that shows and offical efficacy rate of 95% with no safety concerns."
Pfizer have however stated that it would supply vaccines through governmental contracts only.
