Two arrested in Mumbai for selling adulterated milk

On Wednesday the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested two people for their alleged involvement in adulteration of milk after raiding their hideout in Versova. The two have been accused of mixing dirty water into original packets of milk from branded companies.

According to the police the two have been identified as Narsimha Kotapeli (46) and Mahesh Mandra (37). The police have also recovered around 294 litres of adulterated milk, candles, a stove and empty packets of milk.

The two have now been charged with IPC sections of 272(adulteration of food and drink for sale), 482(using false property mark), 483(counterfeiting property mark used by other, 420(cheating), 468(forgery) and 34(common intention) along with Food and Safety Standards Act.
