FIR filed against Baba Ramdev for spreading false information on COVID-19 medicines

 

On Wednesday Night, the Police in Chhattisgarh's Raipur have registered an FIR against Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev for allegedly spreading false information about COVID-19 medicines.

According to an official the case was filed last night on the complaint by the Chhattisgarh's Unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA).

Better known as Baba Ramdev, Ramkrishna Yadav (real name) has been booked under Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), Section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), Section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and other of the IPC and provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

Further investigation into the matter is underway. Ramdev has been in the spotlight from the past 3-4 weeks after a video went viral of him in which he was heard saying that "modern allopathy is a stupid and failed science". Since then there have been Sparks between the Patanjali Yogpeet Trust and IMA. Several Doctors had also demanded his arrest and observed Black Day across the country.
