Shiv Sena Leader & Former Encounter Specialist Pradeep Sharma arrested by NIA in connection with the Antilia Bomb Scare

 

Following an early morning raid at his residence on Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have arrested Shiv Sena leader & former Mumbai Police officer Pradeep Sharma for his connection in the Antilia Bomb Scare case.

Sharma was said to be another former "encounter specialist".

According to offical reports, the raid lasted for almost 4 hours between 6:45 am to 10:45 am. Around 7-8 personnel from the agency along with Superintendent of Police Vikram Khalate were present in the raid. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officers were also deployed at his residence.

During this raid the NIA officals have also seized a printer, a computer and a laptop from his residence.

  • Speaking to the PTI a senior official of NIA said "The NIA also conducted a raid at his residence located in JB Nagar in Mumbai's Andheri (West) around 6 am and the operation continued for several hours. The officials recovered some incriminating documents from his house."

Just a few days ago the NIA had arrested two men involved in this case and are considered to be close to Sharma. The NIA had already arrested four people in this case i.e  Sachin Vaze, Riyaz Qazi, Sunil Mane and Vinayak Shinde.

On February 25 an abandoned SUV with Gelatin Sticks along with a threat note was found parked near billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani's residence, Antilia. The SUV belong to a man named Mansukh Hiren who was found dead on March 5. He had reported a vehicle stolen report on February 17.
