Around Five Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants and one Indian soldier were killed in an encounter in south Kashmir's province of Pulwama on Friday.
Amongst the 5, LeT district Commander Nishaz Lone has also been shot dead.
Earlier a police official had said "One body, apparently of a militant, is spotted near the encounter site. The operation is on as more militants are hiding in the area".
The encounter broke out last night after the Security Forces launched a search operation after receiving a tip-off about the presence of the militants in Pulwama.
The soldier was injured in the initial exchanges and later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Srinagar.
