Six injured in explosion at chemical factory in Palghar; No casualties reported

On Saturday night, an explosion took place in a chemical factory in the Tarapur chemical zone of Boisar MIDC in Maharashtra's Palghar which left 6 workers injured. Around 30 workers had managed to escape the blast.

The blast is said to have taken place in the air handling unit of the Bharat Chemicals, located at L-30 at around 11:30 pm.

According to officals, there were 36 workers in the factory when the explosion took place. Due to the explosion, the ceiling of the unit collapsed and injured six workers. Five of them sustained head injuries and are being treated at a nearby hospital, whereas one of them was discharged after being administered first aid. The remaining workers managed to rush out.

The 39-year-old company is a manufacturer of paracetamol and other chemicals.
