On Thursday, the Tihar Jail Authorities sent shockwaves throughout the country as they agreed to provide a television for two-time Olympic Medallist Sushil Kumar, who has been locked up there for his connection in the Chhatrasal Stadium brawl.
A few weeks ago, Kumar had written a letter to the authorities to provide a television as he expressed his wish to be updated with wrestling matches that will take place at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
He was arrested along with other co-accused Ajay Kumar on May 23. He along with his associates allegedly assualted fellow wrestler Sagar Dhankar who later succumbed to his injuries.
According to DG Prisons, a television set will be provided but not exclusively to Kumar. It will be placed in the common area where all prisoners will be able to watch it.
