BJP stages protest at various railway station over resumption of Mumbai Local for General Public

 

The Opposition Party in Maharashtra, the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Friday 6th August,2021 staged massive protest against the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) Government and demanded restarting of local train services for general public who have been fully inoculated with both doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

Leader of Opposition in Council, Pravin Darekar protested at the Churchgate Station on Friday morning. BJP's Atul Bhatkhalkar was leading the protest at Kandivali station, while BJP MLA Sanjay Kelkar and MLC Niranjan Dhavkar along with other party workers tried to board the Train at the Thane Railway Station.

There was a heavy police bandobast at these stations where the protesters had gathered. Some of them were detained as well for creating ruckus using slogans.

Railway officials later confirmed that the trains were running perfectly on time on Central, Western and Harbour lines and police forces will deployed at every station across the city.

"This is government's dictatorship through police, but our protest is for the common man. The state does not let us protest, nor does it resume services. I have been fined Rs 260" said Pravin Darekar.
