On Wednesday, the Centre announced that all Afghan nationals can travel to India only using an e-VISA (Electronic Visa). All previously issued visas to Afghan Nationals who are not in India, have been cancelled with immediate effect.
The Government said that the introduction of e-Emergency X-Misc has streamlined the application process, thus they made a decision to make e-VISA mandatory for all Afghan nationals travelling to India.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in an official release pointed to the authorised visa Application portal of the Indian Government.
"Keeping in view some reports that certain passports of Afghan nationals have been misplaced, previously issued visas to all Afghan nationals, who are presently not in India, stand invalidated with immediate effect. Afghan nationals wishing to travel to India may apply for e-Visa at http://www.indiavisaonline.gov.in," read the statement.
