The Maharashtra Government finally announced the much awaiting guidelines which were being speculated from the past week. CM Uddhav Thackeray on Monday announced that shops will be permitted to operate till 8 pm instead of 4 pm in the 25 districts mentioned earlier which are in Level 2.
Speaking on the resumption of Mumbai Local Trains for general public, Thackeray said that allowing every section of the public will be difficult in the "first phase".
The 11 districts where there will no relaxations in the current restrictions are Kolhapur, Pune, Sangli, Satara, Beed, Ahmednagar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Solapur, Raigad and Palghar.
The new restrictions are:
- All essential and non-essential shops (including shopping malls) will be allowed to operate till 8 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on Saturday. All non-essential shops and shopping malls will remain closed on Sunday.
- All Government and Private offices will operate at 100 per cent capacity. Staggering of work hours will be done to avoid crowds while travelling.
- Public Gardens and Playgrounds will be kept open for cycling, exercise, jogging and walking.
- Agricultural, Industrial and Civil Works along with transport of goods to be done at full capacity.
- Gyms, SPA's, Yoga Centres, Salons, Beauty Parlours will remain open without the use of AC and with 50 per cent capacity till 8 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on Saturday. This said services will remain close on Sunday.
- Cinema and Drama Theaters and Multiplexes will remain closed till further notice.
- All religious places to remain shut as well until further notice.
- Restaurants to operate at 50 per cent capacity everyday till 4 pm for dine-in. Parcels and Takeaways to continue after 4 pm. Earlier the restaurants were allowed to operate till 4 pm on weekdays only.
