80-year-old man murdered in Navi Mumbai for offering Rs 10,000 to have sex with his wife

 

The Navi Mumbai Police have arrested a 33-year-old man on the charges of murder of a 80-year-old man who allegedly offered him Rs 10,000 to sleep with his wife.

According to report from Hindustan Times, the deceased, identified as Shamakant Tukaram Naik (80), owned several properties in Ulwe, including shops, flats and plots worth several crores. The accused has been identified as Mohan Chaudhary.

Naik would often visit the shop of the Chaudhary. On one such occasion he (Naik) offered him (Chaudhary) Rs 5,000 to sleep with his (Naik) wife.

  • On August 29, Naik offered him Rs 10,000 and asked him to send his wife to his godown. Irritated by his demands, Chaudhary pushed Naik who fell and hit his head. He immediately downed the shutters of his shop, strangulated Naik and hid his body in the washroom.

The body was kept in the washroom till 5 am of August 31. Chaudhary then wrapped the body into a bedsheet and carried it on his bike to dump it in a pond. All of his actions were caught red-handed by the CCTV.

In his statement, he claimed that he threw the clothes and mobile phone of Naik in a garbage bin. They are yet to be recovered.

He had also accompanied Naik' son to file a missing person complaint on August 29. Naik's family told the police that he had left home on the afternoon of August 29 but didn't came back home and his phone was switched off.

The police initially suspected that Naik was killed over property disputes but the CCTV footage led them to the shopkeeper where the truth came out.
