Speaking at the Eastern Economic Reform 2021 on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the friendship between India and Russia and said it stood the test of time which was seen recently during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- "India-Russia friendship has stood test of time; seen recently in robust cooperation during COVID pandemic, including regarding vaccine" said PM Modi.
He added that India-Russia partnership can help bring stability to the global energy market. Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Puri is currently in Vladivostok to represent India at this forum.
India had earlier approved Russia's Covid Vaccine "Sputnik V" for vaccination in the country. Last month, Indian pharma company, Panacea Biotech Ltd said it had agreed to produce 25 Million Doses of Sputnik V Vaccine using the drug substance made by Russia's Generium.
