India to resume COVID-19 Vaccine export next month: Mansukh Mandaviya

 

As reported by PTI, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has announced that India will resume the export of surplus COVID-19 vaccine by next month.

Addressing the media, he said that the effort is a part of the "Vaccine Maitri" programme and the country's commitment to the Covax global pool.

However, vaccinating India's own citizens to remain the topmost priority of the government, he later added.

  • He also informed that the government is expecting to receive over 30 Crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines in October and over 100 Crore doses in the next three months.

The country has so far administered over 81 Crore of doses out of which 10 Crore were administered in the last 11 days. On PM Modi's birthday on Friday, the country administered over 2.25 Crore doses.
