Taliban co-founder Mullah Baradar all set to lead new government in Afghanistan: Reports

According to reports, Taliban co-founder Mullah Baradar will lead the new government in Afghanistan. Taliban on Wednesday had announced that a new government has been finalised and will be unveiled soon.

Earlier reports had suggested that the organization's supreme leader, Haibatullah Akhundzada will be the new head of the government. However now it's is expected that he will focus on religious matters.

A Taliban official was quoted by Reuters saying "All the top leaders have arrived in Kabul, where preparations are in final stages to announce the new government."

The Taliban had seized Kabul on August 15 after sweeping across almost the entire country to come back in power for the second time. Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani had fleed the country when the Taliban entered Kabul.
