On Saturday, the cyber cell of Mumbai Police summoned CBI Director and former Maharashtra Director General of Police (DGP), Subodh Kumar Jaiswal in a phone tapping and data leak case.
He has been asked to present himself before the Mumbai Police and record his statement on October 14.
- The case relates to the 'leak' of a report prepared by IPS Rashmi Shukla about alleged corruption in Police transfers in Maharashtra at the time when she was the head of state intelligence department. Jaiswal was the DGP at that time.
It was alleged that phones of several senior politicians and police officials were tapped illegally during the inquiry and the report was leaked deliberately. However the FIR registered in this regard by the cyber cell does not name Shukla or any other official.
