On Thursday 21st October, 2021, India achieved a historic milestone as the country surpassed the 100 Crore Vaccination milestone. As per the data available on CoWin App, around 70 Crore people have been administered the first dose while 30 Crore people have been received both doses.
Reacting to this historic achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said "India scripts history" and expressed his gratitude to the healthline workers for their tireless efforts.

The Vaccination drive in India kicked off on 16th January, 2021. From February 2nd, healthline and Frontline workers along with senior citizens were given the jab before the vaccination for age group 18-44 started in May.
