The Bombay High Court on Monday asked Maharashtra Minister and NCP Leader, Nawab Malik to reply to the defamation suit filed by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede's father, Dnyandev Wankhede.
On Sunday, a defamation suit was filed by Dnyandev Wankhede to stop Malik from defaming his family. He also sought a compensation of Rs 1.25 Crore from Malik for the "irreparable loss, damage, harm and prejudice to the name, character and reputation" of them.
When senior advocate Atul Damle, representing Malik, sought more time to file the reply, Justice Madhav Jamdar slammed him.
"If you are giving a reply on Twitter, then you better file a reply here" said Justice Jamdar.
Meanwhile Wankhede's advocate Arshad Shaikh asked Damle to "persuade his client not to have tweets uploaded against me and my family."
The next hearing is scheduled on November 10.
