Devendra Fadnavis makes sensational claim of Nawab Malik's link to underworld

A few days after promising to expose NCP Minister Nawab Malik for his "underworld links", Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday hurled a series of allegations on him.

The Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra alleged that Malik had "underworld links" with 1993 Mumbai bomb blast convicts.

"Nawab Malik has dealings with people from the underworld people convicted in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case. He purchased lands from convicts of the case at rates cheaper than markets rates. Was this deal to save prime land from being forfeited under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) TADA law?" Fadnavis asked him at a press conference today.

"You are dealing with conspirators behind dealings. I have found six properties and out of those, four have a direct 100 per cent underworld link. I will give these documents proving this to the competent authority for inquiring. Also, I will give these documents to NCP Chief Sharad Pawar ji. Pawar saheb should become aware of what his ministers have done" ANI quoted Fadnavis.

  • On March 12, 1993 a series of 12 bomb blasts shocked the city resulting in over 257 fatalities while over 1,400 were left injured. The attack was coordinated by underworld Don and India's most wanted fugitive Dawood Ibrahim.

Reacting to this sensational claim, Nawab Malik said that he will drop a "hydrogen bomb" tomorrow morning and that all the allegations placed upon him by Fadnavis are baseless.
