India allows quarantine-free travel to fully vaccinated travellers from 99 countries

On Monday, India allowed fully vaccinated foreign tourists (with approved jabs) from 99 countries including— US, UK, UAE, Qatar, France and Germany to travel quarantine free in the country. This decision comes as the country allowed foreign tourists on non-charters.

India had suspended tourist visas from March 2020 after COVID-19 brokeout in the country. The country resumed them, 20 months later from October 15, 2021 by allowing them in on charters.

  • Apart from a COVID negative report within 72 hours of departure to India, travellers from these 99 countries (Category A) will also need to upload their fully vaccinated certificate on the Air Suvidha Portal.

"Countries that recognize Indian vaccine certificates and their terms of reciprocity, India has allowed quarantine-free travel to their citizens" the guidelines said.
