On Friday, a 3kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recovered from an unattended bag found at the Ghazipur Flower Market in Delhi.
NSG Director General M.A. Ganapathy said the prima facie of NSG suspect that chemical compounds like RDX and Ammonium Nitrate have been used in manufacturing the IED that has been recovered.
According to reports, a call was received by the Delhi Fire Department at around 10.20 in the morning regarding an unattended bag in the Ghazipur Flower Market.
Police and bomb disposal squad were rushed to the spot where the suspicious bag was found. A team of National Security Guard (NSG) along with fire engines were also called in.
The bomb squad and the NSG later defused the IED, taking it to an abandoned area. The Special Cell has registered a case under provisions of the Explosives Act.
Further investigation in underway.
