On Monday, Popular Television producer Ekta Kapoor informed that she has been tested positive for COVID-19 but is doing well.
"Despite taking all precautions I have tested covid positive. I am fine and I request everyone who has come in contact with me to please test themselves" Kapoor wrote on her Instagram.
Earlier in the day, Bollywood Actor John Abraham said he and his wife Priya have also tested positive for COVID-19.
"I came in contact 3 days ago with someone who I later learned had COVID. Priya and I have tested positive for COVID. We have been quarantined at home so haven't been in contact with anyone else. We are both vaccinated & experiencing mild symptoms. Please stay well and healthy. Masks up" Abraham wrote on his Instagram handle.
There has been a huge spike in daily COVID-19 cases in Mumbai recently. The city reported 8,063 new cases on Sunday as the state of Maharashtra reported 11,877 fresh cases.
