Dr Soundarya, granddaughter of former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa was found hanging at a private apartment in Bengaluru and the autopsy is ongoing at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital, informed BS Yediyurappa's Office.
According to the police, prima facie evidence suggests it to be a case of suicide. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is understood to have rushed to the hospital to console the senior leader.
Soundarya (30), a doctor at MS Ramaiah hospital in Bengaluru, was the daughter of Yediyurappa’s eldest daughter Padma. According to the police, she was living with her husband, a fellow doctor, and a six-month-old child at an apartment near Mount Carmel College.
Soundarya was married to Dr Neeraj in 2019. The incident reportedly took place around 10 am, when the housekeeper knocked on the door of the room, there was no response from inside. Dr. Neeraj was called after that. When Neeraj opened the door, he saw Soundarya hanging from the ceiling fan in the bedroom.
