Omicron: Maharashtra Govt issues new guidelines; Night Curfew imposed from 11pm-5am

With the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in the state, the Maharashtra Government on Sunday announced new revised guidelines.

The government has decided to impose a Night Curfew (11 pm-5 am) from January 10 and have banned the movement of more than 5 people from 5 am to 11 pm. During the night curfew, movement will only be allowed for essential purposes.

These guidelines will come into effect from 10th January, 2022 from 0000 hours and will remain in effect till further order.

Here is the list:

  • Government offices: Work from Home.
  • Private offices: Working at 50% staff capacity. Only fully vaccinated workers allowed. Non-vaccinated workers to be encouraged to go for full vaccination.
  • Marriages: Maximum 50 people
  • Funerals and Last rites: Maximum 20
  • Social/Religious/Cultural/Political Gatherings: Maximum 20
  • Schools and Colleges: To Remain Close till February 15, 2022
  • Swimming Pools/Gyms/SPAs/Wellness Centres/Beauty Saloons: To Remain Closed 
  • Entertainment Parks/Zoos/Museums/Forts: To Remain Closed
  • Hair Cutting Saloons: Allowed to remain open at 50 per cent capacity from 7 am to 10 pm
  • Shopping Malls: Allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity from 8 am to 10 pm. Only fully vaccinated people allowed to enter 
  • Hotels/Restaurants/Eateries: Allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity from 8 am to 10 pm. Only fully vaccinated people allowed to enter. Home deliveries allowed all days 
  • Cinema and Theatres: Allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity from 8 am to 10 pm. Only fully vaccinated people allowed to enter.
