On Tuesday, the Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman, Brijesh Patel informed that TATA will replace VIVO as the main sponsor for the upcoming edition of the tournament.
Following the border tensions between India and China, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Vivo had suspended their ties for IPL 2020. The brand was however back as the title sponsor for the 2021 edition.
Vivo had signed a 5 year deal with BCCI worth Rs 2,200 Cr to serve as the title sponsor from 2018-2022.
The marquee cricketing tournament will also see two new teams in the upcoming edition from Lucknow and Ahmedabad.
