Drugs worth Rs 60 crore seized at Mumbai Airport; one foreigner arrested

The Customs official at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport arrested a 40-year-old Zimbabwean woman for attempting to transport Rs 60 crore worth of drugs.

As per the officials, the woman, a cancer patient was being used by a drug cartel as a source of transport. She was promised financial help and medical care in India by the cartel in return for smuggling the drugs.

"She was found to be carrying 7,006 grams yellowish powder tested as 'Heroin' and 1,408 grams white crystal granules tested to contain a combination of 'Heroin' and 'Methap'," an official from the customs said.
