Karnataka: Bajrang Dal activist killed; Section 144 imposed; schools and colleges shut.

On Sunday, a 26-year-old Bajrang Dal activist Harsha was allegedly murdered at around 9 pm in Shivamogga, Karnataka.

As per reports, the Shivamogga police have arrested two persons in connection with the murder. Three more people are suspected to be involved in this crime.

The security has been tightened in the city as schools and colleges have been closed as precautionary measure. Section 144 has also been imposed in the city.

"A group of 4-5 murdered him. I don't know of any organization behind this murder. Law and order situation under control in Shivamogga. As a precautionary measure, schools and colleges in the city limits have been closed for two days," Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendea said.

Tensions are already at a high in Karnataka following the controversy surrounding the Hijab Row.
