On Thursday, the Allahabad High court granted bail to Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra 'Teni', the prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.
Ashish was arrested on October 9,2021 after 11 hours of investigation and was named as the main accused in the chargesheet filed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
- On October 3, eight people including four protesting farmers died after a convoy of three SUVs including one belonging to Ajay Mishra Teni ran over them.
Earlier the SIT had labelled this incident as a "pre-planned conspiracy".
