Mumbai to be unlocked by February end says mayor Kishori Pednekar

As the city continues to show a decline in daily COVID-19 cases, city's mayor Kishori Pednekar announced that the financial capital of India will be unlocked by the end of the month.

"There is a good news for Mumbaikars. Mumbai will be unlocked by the end of this month. We have made up our minds, but it is essential for the people to wear masks and observe social distancing," Pednekar told ANI.

Earlier in the month, the Maharashtra Government had announced relaxation of COVID-19 curbs in Mumbai as the city started to show decline in number of new cases.

On Monday the city reported 356 new cases, the lowest since December 21 and 949 recoveries as the active caseload reduced upto 5,139 cases.
