On Saturday, the Bihar Police arrested 14 people for setting up a police station on fire in reaction for to an alleged custodial death of a villager.
"So far, 14 people have been arrested in connection with Balthar incident as per the information available. Search for other accused is on," DIG Pranav Kumar Praveen said.
As per reports, the villager died due to an alleged "bee sting". As the news broke out, hundreds of villagers went on a rampage and attacked the police station. A police personnel also lost his life in this incident.
"Three police vehicles were torched by a mob; one police personnel lost his life in the incident. The incident took place after a man who was taken into police custody died due to a bee sting at the police station," Superintendent of Police, Bettiah, Upendra Nath Varma told the media.
