Breaking News: Cricket legend Shane Warne passes away at the age of 52

On Friday Shane Warne, one of cricket's finest legspinner and Australia legend passed away at the age of 52 due to a suspected heart attack in Thailand.

"Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived," Warne's management confirmed in a statement.

His untimely demise comes as a sudden shock to the entire cricket fraternity.

  • With his very first ball in Ashes Tour of 1993, he delivered the "Ball of the Century", bowling Mike Gatting with a ball that turned well outside leg stump to clip off the bail and instantly wrote down his name in History.

In an illustratous 15 year international career, Warne took 1,001 wickets (708 in tests and 293 in ODI) which included 38 5-Wicket hauls. 

In 2013, Warne was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. In 2012, he was inducted into the Cricket Hall of Fame by Australia.

This news is the second devasting blow for Australian cricket as another cricketing legend, Rod Marsh passed away on Friday as well.
